The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Dr. Fola Olowoleni, has warned students against violating the institution’s dress code. She charged members of the Dress Code Committee to enforce the dress code, including regular use of Identity Cards (ID). Dr. Olowoleni emphasized the need for the committee to be active in ensuring that campuses are rid of indecent dressing. She also called for the inclusion of student representatives and counseling units in the drive to achieve a proper dress code. Failure to hang ID cards is also considered a violation of the dress code, which includes avoiding dresses that expose sensitive body parts and wearing tight-fitting or ripped jeans. As exams approach, heavy sensitization and regular meetings involving committee members and their various units are crucial to ensure compliance. Students who violate the dress code will face sanctions, so it’s important to dress for success and avoid penalties!
