Location and History: El-Amin International School, founded by Dr (Mrs) Maryam Babangida, a former First Lady of Nigeria, in Minna, Niger State in 1993 with its Primary School section. Its Secondary school was opened in 1995 following the success of the primary school. Its management has continued to maintain the foundation excellence the school started with even after the death of its founder. It has over the years provided a conducive learning environment with 21st-century facilities, while ensuring the environment and culture promotes student academic excellence and spiritual development.
The school encourages and promotes cultural values that are reflected in positive character, mental alertness, and moral uprightness.
The school prides itself on developing the skills needed by children to succeed in higher education and their careers while being well-rounded individuals who can make positive contributions nationally and globally.

Type and curriculum: El-Amin International School operates Primary and Secondary (day and boarding) and Islamiyya Sections. It offers both National and International examinations
Extra-Curricular Activities: These activities are catered for by students clubs and societies. The activities range from academic-related to sports and skills acquisition. Sporting activities include polo, swimming and horseback riding. There are excursions to help drive home the interests and skills of the students. The school has a good football pitch of standard size, lawn tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court, table tennis room and a fully equipped gym
Staff: El-Amin International School has a team of dedicated, well-qualified staff, with its teachers who are graduates in their subject areas and is mandatory for its teachers to have certificates in education. A majority also have master’s degrees. The school has a Continuous Development Programme running in-house and outside training for teachers in addition to overseas training and conference.
Facilities: El-Amin boasts state-of-the-art facilities for academic and extra-curricular activities. Its laboratories, workshops and studios have standard facilities in every subject including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Basic Technology, Carpentry, Electrical, Mechanical, ICT, Arts, Home Economics and the Languages. Each student has a tablet, purchased by the school as part of the digital classroom system.

Awards and Achievements: Over the years, students of El-Amin has scored 100 per cent in external examinations.
Future Plans: The effects of the Transformation Agenda of the group are impacting qualitatively on its operations. A university, El-Amin University is being constructed. Its management is resolved ‘not to be limited but to soar like the eagle and expand with a depth like the ocean.’
