The Edo state government has rescheduled the school certificate examinations that were postponed in March due to a clash with the 2023 State House of Assembly election.
In a statement released on Sunday in Benin, Oni Ekhosuehi, the permanent secretary in the state Ministry of Education, announced that the 2023 Middle Basic Examination (MBE) also known as Primary Six Certificate Examination would now take place on May 6. Additionally, the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), formerly known as Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE), would run from May 2 to 5.
Mr. Ekhosuehi made the announcement on behalf of the state Commissioner for Education, Joan Osa-Oviawe, and urged all students to prepare for the exams accordingly.
