Oracle Academy won the Technology Education Leader of the Year Award 2022 at the second edition of The Nigeria Education Conference And Awards (NECA) themed: Reimagining the Role of Technology in the Nigeria Education System.
Bekere Amassoma is Program Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Oracle Academy; the philanthropic arm of multinational computer tech corporation, Oracle Corporation. Her current role involves promoting Oracle Academy and supporting business operations in over 20 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa including Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Kenya.
Bekere believes that education for youths is the medium with which they can quench their thirst for realizing their potentialities. She advocates for youths to be equipped with the best possible education so they can be assets to their community and that way contribute actively to its development.
Bekere is passionate about nation building and is a firm believer that Africa has all it takes to rise above its current conundrums. She is a Non-Resident Policy Fellow at the Nigerian Global Affairs Council (NIGAC) and serves on the Governance Barometer Team. She is also a mentor at Leap Girl Africa and volunteer at Slum2School. She enjoys travelling, reading and volunteering.
