Senior research and policy analyst at Budgit Nigeria, Ini-obong Usen has stated that successive government lack the political will to execute viable educational programmes.
According to the analyst, enough funds is not invested in the sector, rather than build vocational/education institutes, political leaders build worship centers.
Speaking on Public Square, a Nigeria Info (99.3 FM) popular early evening programme, Usen stressed that state governors are the greatest culprit.
” The future of any country depends on how much is invested in education. It is disheartening that year in – year out, money allocated for education is not fully deployed. Enough money is not invested in the sector.
“Or how would you think of politicians and political leaders who would rather build a large ultra modern religious home, instead of a factory or capital projects such as laboratories which has bearing with education”. He concluded.
