Mr. Ebikibina John Ogborodi has been confirmed as the Acting Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO) by the Executives of the Governing Board.
Ogborodi’s appointment came after the announcement of the death of Prof. God’swill Obioma, the former Registrar.
Recall that the death of Obioma, the former Registrar of NECO was confirmed by the Nigerian examination body on Tuesday, June 1, 2021
Until his appointment, Ogborodi was NECO’s Director, Special Duties.
Mr. Mustapha K. Abdul, the Director, Human Resource Management,NECO confirmed the appointment in a circular he issued
Abdul disclosed that the Acting Registrar’s appointment was endorsed by the Governing Board at its emergency meeting held on 2nd June, 2021.
“Mr. Ogborodi’s appointment was as a result of his being the most senior Director in the Council.”, the circular stated.
The circular added that all activities of the Council are to continue unabated as earlier planned.
Mr. Ogborodi hails from Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
He obtained his first Degree from University of Jos in 1986 and a Master Degree in Learning Disability from the same university in 1999.
The Acting Registrar joined the service of NECO in 1999 and had served in different capacities.
He was a former Acting Director, Examination Development Department; Acting Director, Office of the Registrar; Director, General Services and Director, Human Resource Management among others.
