The Joint Action Committee of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and Senior Association of Nigeria Universities of Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, has protested the decision of the state government to enrol the institution into Treasury Single Account (TSA).
Members on the unions in a peaceful demonstration round the campus carried different placards to show their grievances.
Mrs Eugenia John-Anoruo, Chairman of NASU, IMSU Chapter, stated that 675 workers of the university, including retirees, had yet to receive their five months salaries.
She added that other members of staff that were paid received their March, April and May 2020 salaries without February salary, blaming the Treasury Single Account for the issues.
