The Albino Foundation is seeking collaboration with the Federal Government on how to establish the actual and accurate data of Out of School children in the country.
Jake Epelle, the Foundation President, said this during a visit of its Executives to Architect Sonny Echono, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry Education, in Abuja.
Epelle said establishing the exact number of Out of School Children would help government and relevant stakeholders in designing strategies that will effectively tackle and manage the menace.
He was emphatic that the Foundation has the capacity to bring out the accurate data of Out of School Children in the endemic states in less than three months if given the opportunity.
In his response, Echono acknowledged the Foundation’s effort in partnering with the Federal Government to win the war on out of school children.
However, he said the Ministry of Education is constrained by inadequate budgetary allocations to carry out a complete census of Out of School Children. Echono advised the leadership of the Foundation to send in its proposals on the project so that it could be harmonized with those of other stakeholders who have also shown interest in same partnership.
