Providus Bank has formed a strategic partnership with Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria (GEN) to provide upcoming entrepreneurs with crucial resources such as finance, capacity building, networking opportunities, and ecosystem development.
In a statement, GEN Nigeria emphasized that the collaboration aims to deepen entrepreneurial skills among Nigerians and drive growth in the sector. The signing of the ‘Unite and Collaborate for Strategic Partnership’ agreement between the two organizations took place at the headquarters of Providus Bank in Lagos.
The event was attended by notable individuals including Dr. Olawale Anifowose, Managing Director of GEN Nigeria, Ms. Oluwadamilola Feyide, Team Lead of Strategic Partnership and Business Development at Providus Bank, and Mr. Monday Ewans, Director of Enterprise Development and Promotion at the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria. Also present were Ernest Elue, Head of Strategy and Business Development at Providus Bank, strategic partners, and previous winners of GEN Nigeria competitions.
Dr. Anifowose expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “This partnership basically means that the work we are doing at the Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria can be scaled. We want to make the resources and reach more accessible for Nigerians.” He highlighted the significance of the collaboration, as it enables GEN Nigeria to expand its activities from focusing on just a few states to reaching 20 locations across the country.
As part of the one-year strategic partnership, GEN Nigeria and Providus Bank will collaborate on various entrepreneurship programs and initiatives. This joint effort aims to enhance the entrepreneurial landscape in Nigeria and provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary support to succeed.
