The National Industrial Court has ruled against Trinity Model Academy, ordering the school to pay Lucy Agabo, a former teacher, N2 million in damages for the psychological trauma she experienced as a result of her unlawful termination. The court deemed the school’s actions as null, void, and a violation of the right to a fair hearing. Additionally, Trinity Model Academy was directed to pay N200,000 as the cost of the legal proceedings within 30 days. The court emphasized that the termination without due process was an unfair labor practice and infringed upon Agabo’s constitutional rights.
