The Tertiary Education Trust Fund is set to disburse a whopping N18 billion to six public universities in Nigeria, as part of its Special High Impact Intervention. The funds will upgrade programs and improve learning environments, benefiting selected tertiary institutions nationwide. With most of TETFund’s 2023 budget directly going to beneficiary institutions, the remaining allocation will be used for staff salaries, allowances, project monitoring, and zonal capital projects. Additionally, TETFund plans to intervene in the deplorable state of some institutions’ student hostels, enhancing security measures and allocating N6 billion to institutions in security-prone areas.
