I grew up being lied to that education is the key, among other lies about being the leader of tomorrow and the exaggerated ease that would come with adulthood. Allow me boldly tell you that – all na scam, but that is no news.
Leaders of tomorrow are at home instead of being in school so when you attend a public tertiary institution, add a year or two to the supposed number of years your course of study would take, and you get an extra year by default.
Academic and business activities on the Nigerian campus have been paralyzed for over three months, the campus has become a literal ghost city as social and academic activities are at the lowest ebb, and students still on campus are either not enthusiastic about going home, as they feel that life at home is drab and soulless or to avoid “see finish”.
These subjected some to explore alternative ways to be productive as the traditional education is failing right before our eyes meanwhile technology and the creative industry are rapidly transforming our employment landscape.
The two progressive inclinations that the teeming youths are settling for are either to upskill to better position themselves for opportunities or “Japa” as we believe that the pasture is greener on the other side.
