The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife community in Osun State woke up into mourning mood today following the deaths of two undergraduates from the Faculty of Administration.
News gathered stated that a 200 level student of Business administration Department, identified only as Emmanuel, allegedly drank a poisonous substance called “sniper” to kick the bucket.
The deceased it was reported was rushed to OAU health centre via an ambulance, but he was brought in dead and as certified the medical team on duty then.
The reason behind this ugly incidence was not ascertained as he did not leave any note behind.
In a similar development, a 400 level student from the Department of Management and Accounting in the Faulty of Administration of the same Obafemi Awolowo University, whose identity is yet known, also committed suicide earlier today and was rushed to the university health centre.
He was also confirmed dead thereafter. The reason for his own suicide was also yet to be confirmed. The two unfortunate incidence led to a protest on the campus this morning as students found this ugly development too strange and sudden.
Attempts to speak with the University P.R.O were unsuccessful as a result of his telephone line that was said to be unreachable.
