United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc National Essay Competition 2020 for all Nigerian Secondary School students in Nigeria entry form is ongoing.
The UBA National Essay Competition is being organized United Bank for Africa (UBA), as part of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme mainly for students in secondary schools in Nigeria to help them harness and express their potentials in English Language usage.

The topic for this year’s competition is;
.”Do you think that the lock down during the Covid-19 pandemic was an essential measure in spite of the hardship it brought economically? What would you have done differently and why?”
Requirements for entry are as follows:
- Be a Secondary School Student
- Must submit a handwritten essay (750 words MAX)
- Must submit a passport photograph
- Must submit a copy of a birth certificate, National ID or passport.
And the deadline for submission of entries is October 2, 2020
The prize money for the competition is N6Million Grant which will given in this order; first prize – N2.5million grant, second prize – N2million grant, and third prize –N1.5million grant.
It will be recalled that a 14 year-old female student of Louisville Girls High School, Ogun State Jolaosho Oluwatoroti Otokini emerged the overall winner of the 2019 edition of the UBA Foundation National Essay Competition. While Precious Ifeoma Okey, a 15 year female student of Oladipo Alayande School of Science, Oyo State, bagged the second prize, whilst the third prize went to Aimeé Okoko, 18 years old. Student of Beautiful Beginning Academy, FCT Abuja.
All 12 finalists received brand new laptops from the UBA Foundation.
