The National Universities Commission (NUC), has advised universities in the country to constantly review their curriculum and use modern teaching methods.
Dr Noel Saliu, the Director of Academic Planning, NUC, who gave the advice during the virtual matriculation of Trinity University, Yaba, said universities should employ quality teaching staff and put in place adequate facilities and infrastructure to ensure academic excellence.
Saliu noted that captains of industries could be invited by varsities to teach relevant aspects of the curriculum.
74 students took the university’s matriculation oath.
Professor Charles Ayo, Vice-Chancellor of the institution, said the teaching of problem-based learning, research-informed learning, critical thinking, innovation and creativity would help to produce globally competitive graduates.
Professor Samuel Olatunji, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the university, on his part, advised students to be equipped with the skills and attitudes that would bring solutions to problems.
