Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), SAN, has congratulated six alumni of the institution on their appointments as judges of Lagos and Abuja high courts.
Mr Ademola Adekoya, the Coordinator, Centre for Information Press and Public Relations, LASU, in a statement, said Fagbohun expressed the joy of the management of the institution on the achievements recorded by the six individuals.
The new judges are Her Lordship Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi of the Abuja High Court, who graduated in 1989; Her Lordship Oluyemisi Ilori-Adelaja,of Abuja High Court (1990); His Lordship Olaitan Sharafa of Lagos High Court (1997); His Lordship Adeniyi Pokanu of Lagos High Court (2002); His Lordship Ezekiel Ashade of Lagos High Court (2002) and Her Lordship Ojuawo Folake of Abuja High Court (2009).
Fagbohun noted that an appointment into such an exalted position was not a mean feat, but a testament of hard work, sacrifice and dedication to the noble profession – Law, and an exemplary contribution to the judiciary.
However, Fagbohun, said he was not surprised by the elevation of the six LASU alumni, as their burgeoning legal careers was rooted in a foundation of excellence provided by the LASU Law Faculty, from where they graduated at different times.
He urged the new judges to continue on the path of integrity and honour as they discharge the responsibilities of their new assignments with the courage, resilience and fear of God, while praying for God’s wisdom and protection for them.
