Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has started airing school lessons for primary school pupils on the radio to ensure that they continue learning while at home during the Corona virus lockdown.
Princess Oladunni Odu, Chairman of Ondo SUBEB, in a statement, said the radio programme would be aired on Orange FM Akure.
She said the programme was a strategic effort of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s administration to keep the students busy while at home and to reduce the negative impact of school closure.
“The programme is designed to teach English Language and Mathematics for now and subsequently, General Knowledge will be included. The programme would be on air from Thursday, April 2, 2020, and would run every day, except on Sundays.”
Odu urged the parents and guardians to ensure that their children listened attentively to the educational programme and participate actively in the learning process.
Schools in the state were shut last Thursday by the State Government until further notice as part of the efforts to prevent the outbreak of the Covid-19 disease in the state.
