The Federal Government has appointed Professor Lateef Babatunde Ayeleru as Director of the Nigeria French Language Village, Badagry, Lagos State with effect from the 10th of January, 2020. The appointment is for a single term of five years,
Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education, in a statement signed by Ben Goong, Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations of the ministry, while felicitating with Prof. Ayeleru on his appointment urged him to creditably discharge his duties as the chief executive of the language institute.
Adamu revealed that the conditions of service of the new appointment included remunerations and fringe benefits, are as provided for Vice Chancellors in Federal Universities.
Ayeleru born on February 12, 1966 has many academic laurels from Nigerian and foreign institutions, including a PhD in African Literature/Applied Linguistics and a Masters degree in French Studies.
The Professor of French, Applied Linguistics and African Literature is a member of various societies and fellowships from local and international organizations.
Ayeleru, until his new appointment, was a three – time head of the Department of European Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan.
